If you follow me on Twitter or see me during United Football League (UFL) games, you’ll notice that I’m either drinking or tweeting about Jamba Juice. That’s how much I love it. I’ve lost track of my consumption patterns and just find myself going there—to celebrate a victory, mourn a loss, escape an awkward party, or simply detoxify. If football is my second home, maybe Jamba Juice is my third.

And because I really want to support my third home, I want to take this opportunity to spread the word about Jamba Juice’s “Gimme 5 for Guimaras” campaign. You might have heard about Guimaras Island before, but in case you haven’t, the island province is known for its sweet mangoes, which are exported to countries around the world. We might take mangoes for granted sometimes, so this campaign aims to bring some attention to Guimaras’s sweet fruits. Jamba Juice already uses Philippine bananas in their drinks worldwide, and who knows, they might also start using Guimaras mangoes worldwide one day. Imagine that? That would really help the province’s local economy.

For every smoothie sold (Mango-a-go-go, Mega Mango, Peach Perfection, and Five Fruit Frenzy), Jamba Juice will donate P5.00 to the Provincial Government of Guimaras for the research and development of Philippine mangoes. This partnership with the Bureau of Plant Industry-Guimaras National Mango Research and Development Center (BPI-GNMRDC) aims to support the cultivation of these mangoes. This really says a lot about the brand and how generous and thoughtful they are.

As my way of thanking and helping Jamba Juice, I’m sharing mango-flavored smoothies with Global FC, Global Force, the Azkals, and football fans in general to promote their cause. It only takes one drink to make a difference. Live fruitfully!
